Convergence Media Fest
second-year media production vernissage at the Communication Studies Department, Concordia University
Communication Studies second-year media production students at Concordia University invite you to their year-end vernissage, Convergence Media Fest, Thursday, April 13, 2023, at 9:30 AM at the
CJ Building, Screening Room 1.114, Loyola campus, and starting 2:00 PM at the 4TH SPACE and Visualization Studio, LB Building,
Downtown campus.
Convergence is the coming together of our media streams, connected in the relationships that ground our research-creation: a more reciprocal relationship with time, with place, with materials and technology, with our communities and our peers; a circle of relations that made possible the work you will see in this day-long exhibition.
Our Projects
Intermedia, or working in-between media, is an approach to making that centers on an experimental process and an ethical relationality between content and form, maker and land, community, technology, and materialities.
In this year’s iteration of Intermedia II, students will present archival animation films, interactive installations, and projection mapping projects.
Moving Images II will host a year-end screening featuring community portraits and 75% stories, intimate short narratives that explore the tension between what we remember and tell.
Sound is so much more than just music, though its role in perception and emotion is often underestimated. Through a performance series starting with immersive environments and spoken word, the Sound II concert will highlight the omnipresence and diversity of what sound can be.
