A Monument for Student Activism

by Students from Intermedia II sections 1 & 2

This collective art piece explores three key movements of Concordia's student activism.

- The 2012 Quebec students' strike against the government's tuition hikes

- The ongoing Concordia food coalition's activism for food justice on campus

Elsewhere(s) Here

by Students from Intermedia II sections 1 & 2

“The freedom realized through flight and refusal is the freedom to imagine and create an elsewhere in the here; a present future beyond the imaginative and territorial bounds of colonialism".

How is storytelling spatial? How are digital spaces 'navigated'? How are physical spaces narrative? How is the digital an extension of the physical and vice versa? How do IRL and URL places appear and disappear certain narratives, bodies, and histories?

Elsewhere(s) Here draws lines of flight that are rooted in place and extend beyond its power structures, "where colonialism no longer makes sense."

Carrier Bag of (Relation)s Making

by Students from Intermedia II sections 1 & 2

In this free-format project, students worked with three different texts as creative prompts and guides in their creative process. They focused on developing different creative processes and friendships to hold them together for the rest of the year, working, learning, and teaching together.
