This piece explores the notion of humankind’s disposition toward capital gain from natural sites, with Niagra Falls as our primary example, using the contrast between the natural vs. human-made, the analog vs. digital, and the earth’s generosity vs. capitalist greed to comment on how our profit-focused society often takes advantage of the natural treasures of our world and transforms them into tourist attractions.
